Basic Care: Chameleons prefer a screen cage that will provide 100% ventilation. Decorate the inside of your cage with live plants, tropical vines, branches and sticks. Bare bottom or EcoCarpet on the bottom. Use a 60w Daylight blub to create a basking area of roughly 85 degrees, you will also need a ReptiSun 5.0 bulb for UVB. Provide 12hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness. Mist your chameleons several times a day to provide humidity and drinking opportunities or use a dripper, or fountain, made for chameleons.
Diet: Mostly an insectivore, veiled chameleons will eat any appropriately sized insect including crickets, roaches, super worms, and more. Always remember to gutload your feeders and dust them with vitamins. Veiled chameleons are one of the few chameleons that will also eat greens. For this reason is the very important that you only put non toxic plants inside your cage. See our safe plant list.
